Cancer Care Specialists

The foundation of our medical practice was built on innovation, compassion and excellence. Early pioneers of radiation therapy who came to California to work at The ROC were guided by a set of fundamentals that ensured the highest standard of care. That spirit continues today with customized treatment for each and every patient, state-of-the-art equipment to aggressively treat tumors while reducing the side effects that may accompany radiation treatment, doctors that focus their specialization and expertise on treating different types of cancers, including complex and rare cancers, and refined techniques that result in improved outcomes.

Our team is about fighting cancer. Together with our diagnostic imaging partners, hematologists and specialized surgical colleagues we are able to develop a comprehensive treatment program for each of our patients. We are here to support you, answer all of your questions, and make sure that your experience is as pleasant as possible during this rough time.

Procedures

By using the most current technology available to "map" tumors, our radiation oncologists can design treatments with pinpoint accuracy, ensuring that tumors get the most effective dose while healthy tissues and organs are spared.  Through our network of outpatient radiation oncology centers you have access to a wide range of treatments and procedures including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intraoperative radio therapy (IORT), Brachytherapy, HDR Brachytherapy, Prostate Implants, Sterotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and Gamma Knife.

Social Services

All patients of RAS Radiation Oncology Centers have access to a professional counselor free of charge. This is an elective benefit that can be used once or many times depending on need. Any problem or concern that is important enough to be of patient concern can be discussed in a safe and confidential environment at the center. The purpose in making such a service available is to ensure that patients have a way to address worries or concerns that inhibit their completion of treatment or their peace of mind.

Services can include information on available services in the community, assistance in coping with a cancer diagnosis and resulting treatment, relaxation techniques, or even help with problems a patient had before learning they have cancer. The list is endless. Most importantly, the physicians and staff of the RAS Radiation Oncology Centers want you to feel safe and comfortable undergoing treatment; counseling services are available to ensure that goal.

Comprehensive Treatment Planning

Treatment planning for patients is performed through access to the most sophisticated technologies available. Using imaging, localization, simulation, 2-D and 3-D planning, 3-D conformal external beam planning, implant therapy planning, and inverse treatment planning for intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), our board-certified physicians can expedite caring, effective treatment programs that offer you the best possible outcome from your radiation therapy.

Clinical Trials

Our physicians are renowned for their innovation and research and have been published in many prestigious medical journals. As a leading authority in the field of radiation oncology, The ROC is at the forefront of defining medicine to better serve our own patients and the collective whole through our involvement in national clinical trials.

Patients referred to our offices who decide to participate in clinical trials have access to therapy devised by leading physicians in the field of cancer research and new medications and interventions before they become widely available.
